This two paragraph essay is about the pros and cons for students who have a job in high school. My goals going into this essay were to create good transitions, use academic diction and stay objective. I believe I felt good about keeping my essay very objective and using great academic diction. I do feel though my paragraph did not have transitions and good conclusion.
Many students have jobs to support their families or by choice to benefit themselves. These students go through many pros and cons within their school and work life. The students of the working life face many problems within their time and focus. For example students with jobs build up stress leading them to failure in school and actually putting in more focus on work. Students who work to support their families are also distracted from their low paid jobs, when they can continue their education for a well better future job with better pay. Also, students with jobs also take up time from them, when they should be studying, working on a project or doing homework. With work in the middle of a student's life they are distracted from their learning potential.
On the other hand, students with jobs can also benefit them. Students with jobs can procure many positives while working. For example, students with a job can gain them experience for future and better jobs that will help them in the long run. Also, students with a job can help them with personal needs their parents cannot provide for them, keeping them happy and striving to do better in the work and school environment. Finally, for students who are committed to college will have some income, which will be useful for paying all sorts of necessities they need in college. Students who have jobs must realize the pros and cons it comes with but at the end it's all a personal choice for the good and bad reasons.
